Comparing Duplicates

Comparing two copies

When you have two copies of the same comic (a duplicate group, or two scans of one issue) you can put them side by side and pick the better one.

Open it: select exactly two comics in the Library, right-click and choose Compare files…, or press Compare on a duplicate group in Library Health. Both must be files on this computer.

What you see

  • Side by side (default) or flicker: press M to switch. In flicker mode Space (or F) flips between A and B in exactly the same place, so a difference jumps out.
  • Pages are paired by picture, not by number, so a copy with an extra cover or an ad still lines up. The header says whether the page was matched. If the automatic pairing keeps missing, the − and + buttons shift B's pairing by a page (remembered for the visit).
  • Zooming and panning move both sides together. 0 resets the view.
  • Under each copy: page size, file size, format, page count and bytes per page, with badges (Higher resolution, Larger file, More pages) on the copy that wins each.

Deciding

  • Keep A (1) or Keep B (2) asks first, naming both files, then moves the other to the Recycle Bin.
  • Not a duplicate keeps both and stops listing them as duplicates.
  • Back (Esc) leaves without changing anything.

Keys: Left/Right or PageUp/PageDown turn the page, Home goes to the first page.
