Manual Configuration
DBRepair starts and stays up while Plex Media Server is running, so an interactive repair/test session is possible. Commands that use the databases will not execute until Plex Media Server is stopped.
Manual configuration bypasses automatic host detection, so DBRepair cannot start or stop Plex Media Server. Stop Plex Media Server yourself first.
Use it with the --databases <path> option when your host or container image isn't recognized automatically (see Supported hosts and Command line options).
Scripted example:
./DBRepair --databases "/real/host/directory/...../Databases" auto prune
Interactive example:
./DBRepair --databases /real/host/directory/...../Databases
DBRepair looks for the Plex cache and log folders two levels above the databases folder. If either is missing it prints a warning and continues:
WARNING: Manual config provided. Cache directory (<databases>/../../Cache/PhotoTranscoder) not found.
Default Cache directory location ignored.
WARNING: Manual config provided. Plex log directory (<databases>/../../Logs) not found.
On macOS, Manual configuration also prints this warning before each prompt unless DBRepair is run with sudo privileges:
WARNING: Attempting to run without 'root' privilege. Operations may fail.
