Menu: Orphans

• ORPHans - (Option 31): Search for and Report Any Orphaned Media Items

  • Overview: Searches for and reports media items (tracks, albums, episodes) which are orphaned in the main database: present, but not connected to their parent item. Playback is unaffected, but a normal Scan Files won't fix this. Orphans reports the library and the item(s) affected so you can decide whether to use Plex's 'Plex Dance' procedure or reload the missing media files to resolve it.

  • Availability: Does not require Plex Media Server to be stopped; the main database is opened read-only.

  • Safety status: Safe — read-only. It only reports; nothing is changed or repaired.
