Menu: Update

• UPDAte - (Option 88): Check for and Offer to Download Updates

  • Overview: Checks GitHub for a newer DBRepair release. If one is available, DBRepair asks whether to download the ZIP for this platform; the download is checked against its published size. DBRepair does not unzip or restart; extract it where you want it installed.

  • Availability: Requires curl and network access. May be run at any time.

  • Technical quirks & behavior: The ZIP goes to the first writable of: the --downloaddir directory, the DBREPAIR_DOWNLOADDIR directory (see Command line options), your HOME/Downloads, your HOME/Download, then your HOME directory. If none is writable, Update does not attempt the download. When run from the command line (batch mode), the update is downloaded without confirming.

  • Safety status: Safe — Nothing is installed; DBRepair and your databases are not changed.
