- REPLace - (Option 9): Replace Current Databases with Backup Databases
-
Overview: Replaces the current main and blobs databases with a backup generated by Plex Media Server. DBRepair lists the available backups, sorted by date, and only the dates for which both the main and the blobs backup exist. You select one by its list number (
0or a blank line cancels). DBRepair then checks that backup pair, tells you if it is valid, and asksUse backup dated '<date>'? (y/N). Only onyis the backup put in place. -
Availability: Runs only when Plex Media Server is stopped. Requires enough free disk space for the working copies. If no Plex backups are found, it says so and does nothing.
-
Technical quirks & behavior: The check of the selected backup is at the SQLite level (structure) only. If the selected backup fails its check, DBRepair reports it as not usable and changes nothing. Run
Replaceagain and select another. The prompts are read from the keyboard even when other commands are given on the command line (batch mode). -
Safety status: Safe — Your original Plex backup files are only read, never modified or moved. Nothing is created until you confirm. The result is promoted to active only after it passes an integrity check.
Replaceis recorded inHistory, and can be undone withRevert.
