- IMPOrt - (Option 8): Import Watch History from Another Database
-
Overview: Imports (raw) viewstate / watch history from another Plex Media Server database. DBRepair prompts for the pathname of the database containing the watch history to import (
qcancels). -
Availability: Runs only when Plex Media Server is stopped. Requires enough free disk space for the working copies. Both of your current databases must pass a check; if either is damaged, repair it first.
-
Technical quirks & behavior: The source database is checked at the SQLite level and refused if damaged, but the imported records themselves cannot be validated. This can have side effects such as a "negative watch count" being displayed. The prompt for the pathname is read from the keyboard even when other commands are given on the command line (batch mode).
-
Safety status: Caution — Imported watch history is raw. Works on copies of your databases; the result is promoted to active only after both pass an integrity check, is recorded in
History, and can be undone withRevert.
