- PRUNe - (Option 21): Remove Old PhotoTranscoder Cache & Temp Files
-
Overview: Removes
.jpg,.jpeg,.png, and.ppmfiles in the PhotoTranscoder cache directory older than 30 days (default), andpms-*files and image files more than 1 day old from/tmpand the Plex Media Server temporary directory. Under normal operation Plex Media Server manages this automatically as part of its Scheduled Maintenance. Under certain conditions it fails to; this command allows you to manually remove what it would normally do.removeandpurgeare accepted as synonyms forprune. -
Availability: Runs only when Plex Media Server is stopped.
-
Technical quirks & behavior: The cache age can be changed with
--cacheage Nor theDBREPAIR_CACHEAGEenvironment variable (see Command line options). Prune does not ask for confirmation; it removes the files and then reports how many were removed. -
Info (for reference only): Initial pruning might take longer than expected, and nothing is displayed while files are being removed. Execution time, using a Synology DS418 as benchmark, is approximately 50,000 image files per minute. Some machines will be much faster, some slower. Please be patient; DBRepair has not hung.
-
Safety status: Safe — Only cache and temporary files are removed. The databases are not touched.
