Training: Navigate the Application Designer

What you'll learn: what the Application Designer hub offers and how to get in and out of it. You need: Administrator or Developer access type, an Application Development application. Time: 5 minutes.

Steps

1. Go to Left menu → App Designer. (Fallback: header Search "Application Designer".)
2. Note the Workspace panel on the left — on this page it replaces the main menu. It lists your application's components (data models, flows, screens) with search and type filters; a new application shows "Nothing matches the selected filters".
3. Pick a designer card to create a component:
   • Data Model — define the shape of the data and API
   • Data Flow — business logic, data movement, device interaction
   • Screen — user interfaces for front office or shop floor
4. Or pick a tool card to explore:
   • Application Graph — visualize how components connect
   • Script Editor — experiment with scripts and transforms
   • GraphQL Editor — query or mutate data
   • Data Explorer — browse your data and how it changes
   • API Documentation — generated GraphQL / Data Flow / Webhook docs
5. To leave the page, type the destination page's name in the header Search and pick it — the standard left menu returns on the next page. (The ≡ icon toggles the Workspace panel, not the main menu.)

Check your work

You can reach every designer and tool from this one hub, and you can navigate away using the header Search.

Try it yourself

Open the Designer, click the Script Editor card, run 1 + 1 style experiments in the editor, then Search your way back to "Application Designer".
