What is a Connector in Fuuz?

Purpose of Connectors

  • Facilitate data exchange and automation across enterprise systems
  • Reduce the complexity and time required for custom integrations
  • Ensure reliable communication between Fuuz and third-party systems
  • Handle the authentication and general communication between systems

Types of Connectors

  • Tier 1 – High complexity (e.g., SAP, Oracle ERP)
  • Tier 2 – Moderate complexity (e.g., QAD, IFS, Infor, Salesforce.com)
  • Tier 3 – Lower complexity (e.g., Plex ERP, NetSuite, Quickbooks)
  • Data Exchange – Generic interfaces (e.g., EDI, FTP, File Folders)
  • Device – Industrial hardware (e.g., PLCs, CNCs, RFID, weigh scales)

Tiered Connector System

  • Tier 1 – Complex APIs, high maintenance, deep integration logic
  • Tier 2 – Balanced complexity, fewer APIs, easier to maintain
  • Tier 3 – Simple APIs, standard communication methods
  • Tiering connectors helps customers understand integration effort and support level

Data Exchange Connectors

Connector type: Physical device connectors require a device driver and are added as a device connection on the Edge Gateway.
