How to add visualizations (charts and graphs) to reports in Fuuz for Beginners

Article Type: How-To Audience: Developers, App Admins Module: How To

In this video, we show you how to add a relatively simple bar chart to our standard off-the-shelf production historian. Charts, graphs, and visualizations are great for providing aesthetic representations of real-time data throughout Fuuz, and you can add charts to nearly any screen in the system.

Our AI-driven charting capabilities do all the "developer" work for you — just give it some simple commands and select from a list of the data you want to present. As you'll see, making visualizations in Fuuz is as simple as, if not simpler than, using Excel or other common BI tools. This is the case because Fuuz has its own native data storage capabilities, so the platform already understands your data, how you may want things aggregated, etc.

You can get more complex than what we show in the video. You can create saved visualizations, which are like widgets you can use across multiple screens — all displaying the same or similar data based upon underlying screen parameters. If you're a builder/developer in Fuuz, you probably want to know more about our advanced visualization capabilities, which are discussed in other videos and KB articles. The charts and graphs in Fuuz are so flexible that you can control literally every aspect of them when using the advanced mode. In this video we focus on the citizen developer options for adding visually appealing graphics to new or existing reports within the platform.

After watching how to create this simple bar chart, you can experiment with the other available charting options. If you're curious what all the possible chart types are, visit the Visualization Type screen in Fuuz where you can explore the more advanced options like sankey, gantt, and others.
