How to connect OPC/UA simulator to the Edge Gateway

Article Type: How-To Audience: Developers, App Admins Module: How To

Using an OPC/UA simulator can be a useful way to familiarize yourself with the connection settings of the Edge Gateway application. With the simulator, you can simulate the behavior of an OPC/UA server and connect it to the Edge Gateway to see how it works. This can help you understand how the application communicates with OPC/UA servers and how to properly configure the connection settings to establish a successful connection. By using the simulator, you can also experiment with different settings and configurations without the risk of affecting real-world systems.

Connector type: Physical device connector — requires the OPC/UA device driver and is added as a device connection on the Edge Gateway.

Instructions

  1. Install the Edge Gateway application.

  2. Install an OPC UA Simulation Server from Prosys.

  3. Switch the simulation server to "Expert Mode".
