Create Users and Set Access Type

Goal

Create an enterprise user and set their Access Type, identity provider, home tenant, and roles.

Note: If you are an Application Admin (not an Enterprise Admin), you will only be able to request access for new users; these access requests must be completed by the Enterprise Admin. If you are acting as both, you will be able to add the user straight away from within the Enterprise Admin environment.

Steps

1. Open the Enterprise Users list under Access Control and click New.
2. Enter the user's Email (their unique user ID), first and last name, and phone (optional middle name).
3. Select an Identity Provider (Internal or SSO / Active Directory).
4. Choose an Access Type appropriate to the user's role.
5. Assign a Home Tenant so the user lands in the correct app after login.
6. Assign Roles configured for that tenant/application.
7. Optionally set an Access Expiration date/time and an Inactivity threshold (in days) for automatic expiry.
8. Click Save. The user receives an email to set their initial password (the link expires after 7 days).

Important: For shop-floor users without a corporate email, use plus-addressing (e.g. admin+bill.smith@company.com) with the Internal Identity Provider so notifications route to an admin mailbox while each user ID remains unique.
