Discovery Call Outline

Below is how we structured our discovery calls, based on the Unusual Ventures template:

  • Intro
    • Make sure that this is still a good time
    • Everyone introduces themselves
    • Our intro blurb
      • We’re Stanford students working on a startup around e-commerce
      • Looking to chat with experts about certain painpoints around search
    • A little overview of the call
      • We’ll ask you a couple of questions about your role
      • Then we’ll present some information about our solution
      • Finally we’ll make it open-ended and ask for feedback
  • Who They Are and How They Work
    • What does your day-to-day look like at [INSERT ORG HERE]? What do you do in your role, and what are your responsibilities?
    • Have you worked on search during your time at [INSERT ORG HERE] or at a previous company? If so, what about the current state of e-commerce search works well, and what doesn’t?
    • What are your thoughts on AI within the e-commerce space, in general? Can you see it being applied to search?
  • Your Idea
  • Their Feedback
    • We’d love to hear if you have any questions/feedback!
  • The Ask
    • Would love to schedule another call to show a demo
    • If possible, would be open to calendaring the meeting before the call ends
