Print Tuning and Utilities

Cindr3D includes cross-firmware utilities for resonance compensation, pressure advance, power control, spool tracking, timelapse, and update awareness.

Input Shaper

Input shaping reduces ringing caused by frame vibration during fast moves.

Firmware commands:

  • Klipper: SET_INPUT_SHAPER, optionally with ADXL345 TEST_RESONANCES.
  • Duet/RRF: M593 P"<TYPE>" F<freq> S<damping>.
  • Marlin: M593 X F<freq> D<damping> and M593 Y F<freq> D<damping>.

MZV is a good starting point for many printers. EI and multi-hump EI variants can help machines with stronger resonance but may limit acceleration more.

Pressure Advance

Pressure advance compensates for filament compression so corners and starts/stops are cleaner.

Firmware commands:

  • Klipper: SET_PRESSURE_ADVANCE ADVANCE=<value> SMOOTH_TIME=<time>.
  • Duet/RRF: M572 D0 S<value>.
  • Marlin: M900 K<value>.

Re-run pressure advance after changing filament type, extrusion path, nozzle, hotend, or extruder.

Power Controls

Power utilities can control printer mains, lights, enclosure fans, or dehumidifiers through Moonraker power devices, Tasmota, Shelly, or generic HTTP endpoints.

Spools

Spool tracking records material, brand, color, starting weight, used weight, remaining percentage, active spool, and notes. Klipper installs with Spoolman can bridge the active spool through Moonraker.

Timelapse

Cindr3D supports Klipper moonraker-timelapse and browser-rendered webcam timelapse. Browser timelapse is useful for non-Klipper firmware because it does not require printer-side rendering.

Updates

The Updates utility checks upstream release information for supported firmware and Cindr3D itself. It does not auto-update firmware; read release notes before applying firmware changes.
