Ad Astra

Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge: this page documents that build and its measurements. For the separate 170-control Minecraft 1.21.1 port, see Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.

One control for Ad Astra 1.15.20 (mod id ad_astra): the gravity of the current planet is read as a primitive number. Only cold calls get cheaper; warm timings are unchanged within noise, and the section says so. The switch checks the code it would change against the tested build; another build is left untouched with one WARN line (see How the patches are applied).

Since: 1.0.4 · Script (1.0.19 and earlier): furious4-GravityApiImpl.js Patched: earth.terrarium.adastra.common.systems.GravityApiImpl.getGravity(ResourceKey) Mixin (since 1.0.20): GravityApiImplMixin

What upstream did. The dimension gravity lookup boxed the planet's gravity through an Optional/Float chain.

What the patch does. Reads the current planet's primitive float directly with the original 9.807 default and division.

What stays the same. Lookup frequency and every other gravity overload, event and override.

Measured. Warmed timings are neutral to slightly slower within noise (client, planet present 5.75 → 5.83 ns, missing 3.81 → 4.09 ns); cold 105.38 → 47.70 ns (missing planet) and 113.41 → 62.52 ns (present) with 16–32 → 0 B. This is a cold-path and allocation change with no warmed speedup; switch it off if you prefer stock code.
