Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge: this page documents that build and its measurements. For the separate 170-control Minecraft 1.21.1 port, see Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.

1.0.34+mc1.21.1, 2026-10-07 (Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge)

Port of 1.0.34: 170 of its 254 controls (42 retired on 1.21.1, 42 without a 1.21.1 target). Java 21 and NeoForge 21.1.252 or newer. Fixes joining a world with Dragon Mounts Remastered and a data-pack dragon breed, which stayed at 0 % with the earlier 1.21.1 builds. One new control: the client asks a server again for the Distant Horizons reply it can lose while joining, so distant terrain comes in from the server. Dedicated-server, Iris with shaders, Embeddium, Accelerated Rendering, Generator Accelerator, Bye Pregen and Dragon Mounts Remastered checks passed. No speed benchmark. Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge · Release.

1.0.33+mc1.21.1, 2026-10-06 (Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge)

Port of 1.0.33: 169 of its 253 controls (42 retired on 1.21.1, 42 without a 1.21.1 target). Java 21 and NeoForge 21.1.252 or newer. Four new controls (three for JEI, one for world generation). Fixes the stop at the first world load next to Generator Accelerator 1.6.2 of the two earlier 1.21.1 builds, and Distant Horizons' script lookup index that never switched on there. Dedicated-server, Iris with shaders, Embeddium, Accelerated Rendering, Generator Accelerator and Bye Pregen checks passed. No speed benchmark. Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge · Release.

1.0.30.1+mc1.21.1, 2026-10-05 (Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge)

Fixes a crash while generating a world with Biolith installed, which Quark 4.1 bundles (issue #2): vanilla_climate_rtree_flat_bounds declared the method it replaces protected although Biolith needs it public. The same 165 controls as 1.0.30+mc1.21.1; nothing else changed. Tested on dedicated servers with Quark 4.1-486 and with TerraBlender 4.1.0.8 added. Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge · Release.

1.0.30+mc1.21.1, 2026-10-04 (Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge)

Port of 1.0.30: 165 of its 248 controls (41 retired on 1.21.1, 42 without a 1.21.1 target). Java 21 and NeoForge 21.1.252 or newer. Fixes the start-up crashes of 1.0.27+mc1.21.1 with Accelerated Rendering plus Iris and with Bye Pregen. Dedicated-server, Iris with shaders, Embeddium and Accelerated Rendering checks passed. No speed benchmark. Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge · Release.

1.0.27+mc1.21.1 — 2026-10-03 (Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge)

Separate port of 1.0.27: 82 controls, 13 retired after upstream changes and 32 without compatible targets. Java 21 and NeoForge 21.1.252+. Dedicated-server, Iris with shaders and Embeddium checks passed. No new speed benchmark. Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge · Release.

The mod was developed in September 2026 as Bons Pure Optimizations and renamed Bons and Furious at 1.0.11 when it absorbed the first companion mod; its technical names followed at 1.0.16 (see Naming). 1.0.15 was the first public release, 1.0.19 the second, 1.0.21 the third and 1.0.23 the fourth, 1.0.26 the fifth, 1.0.27 the sixth, 1.0.30 the seventh, 1.0.33 the eighth, 1.0.34 the ninth and 1.0.35 the tenth; 1.0.16, 1.0.17, 1.0.18, 1.0.20, 1.0.22, 1.0.24, 1.0.25, 1.0.28, 1.0.29, 1.0.31 and 1.0.32 were not published separately. Builds before 1.0.15 existed only in the author's pack; their contents are listed so the Since column on the control pages makes sense.

1.0.15 2026-09-28 Bons Valkyrien Fixes 1.3.0 (Bons to Be Afloat) folded in as the 15 valkyrien_* controls plus the Trackwork model repair; public packaging replaces copied Trackwork geometry and Scorched function text with runtime repairs of the installed resources; restrictive-license adapters ship only added instructions; GPL-3.0-only with upstream notices. First public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth). SHA-256 1e8046b57a304b58dab66a3b1e634f5b73e767078896ba7f38ee9ba1c0807b38. 74
1.0.16 2026-09-28 terrain_final_density_reuse: the second density-graph pass of every NoiseChunk reuses what the first pass built (eight fingerprinted coremods on NoiseChunk.<init> and seven DensityFunctions mapAll methods). Ran in the author's pack only; not published. 75
1.0.17 — Reserved for an AmbientSounds frame-jitter candidate that has not shipped. No public build carries this number. —
1.0.18 2026-09-29 terrain_surface_estimate_share: neighbouring NoiseChunks share their preliminary surface estimates through one audited, bounded table per world generator. Ran in the author's pack only; not published. 76

Second public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth) and the first that carries the bons_and_furious technical names; the public JAR is built from the public 1.0.15 packaging plus the 1.0.16, 1.0.18 and 1.0.19 additions. SHA-256 32b1e64538ffd0b29ce18e5f3cb07f9a538e3506e6319e36be4f65f75666c1f9. 78
1.0.20 2026-09-30 Every patch rewritten as a Mixin (suggested in issue #1): the 93 coremod scripts became 98 fingerprint-guarded mixins with the same all-or-nothing guard per switch; MixinExtras and MixinSquared bundled. One fix from the rewrite: villager level badges back in ImmediatelyFast's own layer order (immediatelyfast_offset_layer_prefixes, wrong since 1.0.14). The three engineering_* controls moved into Living Engineering 3.0.2. Ran in the author's pack only; not published. 75
1.0.21 2026-09-30 Nine optimizations: distanthorizons_render_param_inverse_reuse, ryoamiclights_block_entity_lock_skip, curios_foreign_capability_fast_path, crypticfoes_sound_listener_invariant, embeddium_serializer_lookup_snapshot, vanilla_model_bone_lookup, emf_block_entity_type_string, etf_sprite_texture_id_memo, oculus_phase_labels; two new targets (Entity Texture Features 7.1, Entity Model Features 3.2.4). Third public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth). SHA-256 335632b1ca59829d95cf3a0c436a955968f1b71df0d6c62e72307bdf9cec1531. 84
1.0.22 2026-10-01 Five options given back where another mod had switched them off: radium_c2me_chunk_access, radium_c2me_player_chunk_tick, radium_untrack_chunk_hooks (a fix: Radium's chunk drops through vanilla's updateChunkTracking), modernfix_c2me_cache_strongholds, immediatelyfast_known_core_shaders; the priority-900 compat plugin. Qualified in the author's pack; not published on its own (1.0.23 contains it byte for byte). 89
1.0.23 2026-10-01 Eighteen optimizations from review 8: vanilla_noise_column_cache, vanilla_climate_sample_repeat, vanilla_climate_search_repeat, vanilla_climate_rtree_flat_bounds, vanilla_block_ticking_range_memo, vanilla_animate_tick_uniform_biome, vanilla_fog_color_sample_memo, forge_render_layer_memo, forge_status_ping_channel_groups, forge_plain_translation_format, structurify_set_data_single_lookup, distanthorizons_rough_surface_xz_cache, distanthorizons_cloud_pass_invariants, chunksending_expiry_queue, entityculling_dirty_cache_reset, oculus_dh_instance_lookup, colorwheel_phase_labels, ambientsounds_dimension_patterns; six new targets (Forge itself, Radium Re-Reforged, ModernFix, ChunkSending, EntityCulling, Colorwheel). Every switch now also checked offline against every other mod's mixins and access transformers on the same classes. Fourth public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth). SHA-256 4c75c6c021d5ca2d0d77e897a9b3d8933bce44e911aa980aae73af6fcfd4346e. 107
1.0.24 2026-10-01 Hostile Villages pending-chunk spawn queue fix; included in 1.0.26. 108
1.0.25 2026-10-02 Four compatible performance paths: DH direct chunk reads with C2ME, block-entity state, POI sections and Radium ticket/spawning options; included in 1.0.26. 112
1.0.26 2026-10-02 Fifteen new switches for Embeddium, Distant Horizons, EMF, JEI, Farmer's Delight, Fusion, Relics and vanilla; latest 30-run whole-pack benchmark. Fifth public release. SHA-256 197c939fe6d9d1fa67c05980db327d21eafd371735236ac2b060b57728f78efa. 127
1.0.27 2026-10-03 Compatibility with Collections Of Optimizations 4.4: four controls step aside for its copies of the same patches, or leave them out, so only one copy runs (with 1.0.26, COO plus Alex's Caves crashed). No control added or changed. Sixth public release. SHA-256 196e7bc1996495537c5e1f4cf8aa34cc6662cdc46600992b950de40ffc9ad0d6. 127
1.0.28 2026-10-03 Twenty-three controls for vanilla entity checks, world generation (empty structure blending, TerraBlender, Oh The Biomes We've Gone, Alex's Caves) and shared libraries (GeckoLib, Citadel, Lionfish API, Curios, Mowzie's Mobs and others), plus fixes for three crashes with other mods (TaCZ Tweaks, Accelerated Rendering with Oculus, Embeddium without Oculus): alexscaves_rare_biome_column_memo, artifacts_living_tick_order, biomeswevegone_foreign_chunk_skip, citadel_model_vertices, cofh_translucent_renderer_memo, cucumber_tile_dispatch_range_first, curios_slotless_tick_skip, distanthorizons_biome_blend_memo, distanthorizons_lod_biome_memo, fancymenu_render_thread_state, geckolib_bone_queue_reuse, geckolib_quad_vectors, immediatelyfast_idle_layer_skip, lionfishapi_model_vertices, mowziesmobs_capability_handles, pehkui_scale_tick_callbacks, placebo_enchantment_event_skip, storagedrawers_count_label_memo, terrablender_lazy_namespace_rules, terrablender_namespace_rule_memo, vanilla_fire_scan_loop, vanilla_suffocation_scan_loop, worldgen_empty_beardifier_marker. Included in 1.0.30; not published separately. 150
1.0.29 2026-10-03 Seventeen controls for start-up (Radium block flags, Forge object holders, Almost Unified), the server-list status, entity selectors, biome search trees and Distant Horizons LOD loading, and less retained server memory from two existing controls (shared climate bounds; the Distant Horizons density copy made on first use): almostunified_duplicate_groups, distanthorizons_adjacent_face_skip, distanthorizons_pooled_string_index, distanthorizons_quad_sort_keys, distanthorizons_unlocked_byte_stream, distanthorizons_wrapper_air_flag, embeddium_sprite_tick_frame_times, emf_cube_vertex_vector, forge_object_holder_pass_index, forge_status_ping_memo, radium_entity_touchable_memo, spawn_flyless_particle_check, vanilla_block_state_air_flag, vanilla_climate_tree_sort_keys, vanilla_climate_tree_span_bounds, vanilla_selector_type_index, vanilla_ticking_chunk_memo. Included in 1.0.30; not published separately. 167
1.0.30 2026-10-04 Eighty-one controls: server ticking, saving and networking in vanilla code, Create and automation mods, Embeddium section searches and draw commands, JEI, ModernFix, and 16 fixes for defects in target mods (see All controls, Since 1.0.30). Together with 1.0.28 and 1.0.29 that is 121 controls and 35 optional targets more than 1.0.27. Seventh public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth). SHA-256 3b32a46648a917e085f7fa8b21c749c869a409444008ddfbe790a10dd02d1a50. 248
1.0.31 2026-10-04 Three client controls for JEI: brewing recipes are found by their ID while JEI builds its recipe list, tooltip search words are read without regex matching, and JEI's hidden anvil and grindstone menus skip synchronization scans nobody observes. Every generated recipe stays in JEI: jei_brewing_lookup, jei_tooltip_words, jei_hidden_menu_sync. Included in 1.0.33; not published separately. 251
1.0.32 2026-10-05 Two controls: biome lookups outside chunk generation work out their x and z parts once per column, and a fix for a direct-memory leak in Forge 47.4.16 on clients connected to a server: vanilla_climate_sample_xz_parts, forge_custom_payload_heap_copy. Four fixes without a new control: world generation no longer crashes with Biolith (vanilla_climate_rtree_flat_bounds declared the method it replaces protected although Biolith needs it public; issue #2); a dedicated server no longer stops at the first world load with Generator Accelerator (vanilla_beardifier_influence_bounds steps aside for it); the start is faster than with 1.0.30, whose check for mods that build on a replaced mixin read far more than it needed and stopped on a mixin config with an empty entry (issue #3); and kiwi_manifest_lookup_index, iceandfire_tabula_lookup_index and distanthorizons_sql_script_lookup_index, which switched themselves off at every start of 1.0.30, now run. Included in 1.0.33; not published separately. 253
1.0.33 2026-10-06 One more fix, no new control: world creation no longer crashes next to the c2meforge port of C2ME. terrain_density_memo, terrain_final_density_reuse and vanilla_noise_wrap_presize step aside, with one log line, while another mod changes the same call inside the NoiseChunk constructor. Together with 1.0.31 and 1.0.32 that is five controls more than 1.0.30. Eighth public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth). SHA-256 dbb479dd0151538c904bec668413b3e71ccc989d9caf33522243ecf3eb2a4683. 253
1.0.34 2026-10-06 Bug fixes, and one new control that is a fix too: distanthorizons_join_config_resend asks a server again for the reply Distant Horizons loses when it arrives too early while a player joins, so distant terrain streams in from the server, and distanthorizons_world_change_biome_reset no longer loads Distant Horizons classes at that moment. Two crashes of dedicated servers are fixed: vanilla_item_merge_candidates and vanilla_selector_type_index stopped the server when a mod's item or entity class names client-only classes in its methods. Also fixed: Pipez with Pipez Optimizer and without Mekanism starts again (pipez_empty_filter_fast_path); the values five controls keep on game records are skipped by Gson (a crash reported with Dragon Mounts Remastered on Minecraft 1.21.1); a refused login shows its reason again (vanilla_connection_flush_batching); and fixes for Create, Embeddium, Radium's experimental chunk tickets, Hostile Villages and the Structure Gel and Ice and Fire lake checks, plus smaller leaks. Ninth public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth). SHA-256 39caa1e5ad4753bde60807318617c2905c3334c1008e63ea948791155f3c4b66. 254
1.0.35 2026-10-09 One new control: vanilla_mob_class_warmup prepares the classes of every kind of mob on a background thread once a world or server has started, so the first spawns, which pile up when night falls, no longer load those classes on the server thread. In a 480-mod pack the time lost to long ticks in the first night went down by about a quarter. Tenth public release (GitHub, CurseForge, Modrinth). SHA-256 a424ab941346ac4709b1664f781739621d3ca83bc2d817aa92a2b6f8860f847d. 255

Since 1.0.12 every release is a delta build on the installed predecessor: every prior JAR entry stays byte-identical except coremods.json, mods.toml, MANIFEST.MF and the default properties, and the build asserts that. The 1.0.16 technical rename is an exception: it also renames entries and the former names inside them (see Naming). 1.0.20 ended that scheme: with every patch a mixin, the build compiles the whole tree, and the published 1.0.21 and 1.0.23 JARs are the qualified builds themselves.

Folded-in mods

Former mod Lineage Folded at
Bons Worldgen Compatibility 1.0.0 (2026-09-18) itself a consolidation of individually patched JARs: iceandfire-…+ac-dhfix.1/.2, structure_gel-…+ac-dhfix.1, hostilevillages-…+ac-dhfix.1, scuba_gear-…+ac-dhfix.1/.2, alexscaves-…+ac-worldgenfix.1 (2026-09-09 to 09-11) 1.0.11
Bons Valkyrien Fixes 1.0.0 → 1.3.0 (Bons to Be Afloat) itself a companion form of the patched valkyrienskies-120-2.4.11+ac-review.1…3 and +ac-terrain.1 JARs and the trackwork-…+ac-review.2 model repair (2026-09-15 to 09-16), extended by sweeps 5–7 (2026-09-27) 1.0.15

Why the version stays below 1.1.0

Kismet Gigabyte declares a mandatory dependency on this mod's id with a version ceiling (bons_and_furious [1.0.0,1.1.0); its builds for 1.0.15 and earlier name bons_pure_optimizations). Living Engineering did the same up to 3.0.1 and dropped the dependency in 3.0.2, when its three optimizations moved into that mod. Forge's dependency gate refuses to boot a pack in which a mandatory dependency is outside its declared range, so a 1.1.0 build would break those packs until their ceilings are raised. Releases therefore continue in the 1.0.x line for now.

Naming

The display name changed at 1.0.11. The technical names kept the former name through 1.0.15 and follow the display name from 1.0.16 on:

Updating keeps your switches: the first start of 1.0.16 or newer writes config/bons_and_furious.properties from its defaults with every switch the old file set to false still false, and keeps the old file as bons_pure_optimizations.properties.migrated. The old JVM flag spellings are still accepted. Unchanged on purpose: the switch keys, terrain_efficiency.mixins.json, -Dac.terrain.enabled and the Java package and class names (bons.pure.*, agentcraft.pure.*, agentcraft.consolidated.bons_pure_optimizations.*), which only appear in stack traces. A mod that depends on this one has to name bons_and_furious from 1.0.16 on.
