Sakes Structures
Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge: this page documents that build and its measurements. For the separate 170-control Minecraft 1.21.1 port, see Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.
One control for Sake's Structures 0.2.1-forge-1.20.1 (mod id sakes_structures): the protected-structure check evaluates its predicate once per player instead of three times. It is not a mixin. Bons and Furious registers a built-in data pack (through FunctionFixPacks) that replaces sakes_structures:protected_structure_check (and adds one helper function), and only when the switch is on, the mod is installed and the replaced function is byte-identical (SHA-256) to the version the fix was written for. An updated Sake's Structures keeps its own functions, with one WARN line. See How the patches are applied for the mechanism. It matters on whichever side hosts the world.
| Key | Target | Side | Since | Kind | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
sakes_structure_check_once |
Sake's Structures 0.2.1 | BOTH | 1.0.13 | opt (function pack) | predicate evaluated once per player instead of three times |
Applied from: a bundled pack (bons_and_furious_packs/sakes_structure_check_once, MIT-licensed target) that overrides protected_structure_check.mcfunction and adds bons_and_furious/protected_structure_check_player.mcfunction
What upstream did. Sake's Structures' protected-structure check runs every 5 ticks and evaluated its structure predicate three times per player, plus four entity scans.
What the patch does. Evaluates the predicate once per player through a per-player helper function, with one fewer scan and the same ss-canbuild calls in the same order.
Why it is exact. ss-canbuild only changes the target player's own flag, so handling each player completely before the next cannot change the outcome, and within one player the calls keep upstream order.
Measured. Loads and runs without error in the full-pack world A/B; no in-game timing was recorded because the function only does work when a player is present. Log: … sakes_structure_check_once applied to sakes_structures (1 original functions verified).
Bons and Furious is licensed GPL-3.0-only with upstream notices retained. Target mod names identify compatibility targets and do not imply endorsement; their code, assets and licenses remain their authors' property. All measurements on this wiki are focused method, phase or reproduction measurements from the pack the mod was built for, taken on the historical build named in each entry; they are not whole-game FPS or TPS promises and are not additive.
