Placebo
Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge: this page documents that build and its measurements. For the separate 170-control Minecraft 1.21.1 port, see Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.
One control for Placebo 8.6.3 (mod id placebo): enchantment queries skip an event that nothing listens to. The switch checks the code it would change against the tested build; another build is left untouched with one WARN line (see How the patches are applied).

Mixin: PlaceboEventFactoryMixin
Placebo enchantment queries without an empty event. Placebo routes every enchantment-level query of every item stack through a new event on Forge's event bus, so that mods such as Apotheosis can add levels. When nothing listens for that event, the post calls nobody and the answer is the value Placebo put in. The switch asks the bus's own listener list first and, when it is empty, returns that value (the all-enchantments query keeps its fresh map copy) without building or posting the event. A listener registered at any time is seen on the next query.
Measured: nothing listens in a pack of about 510 mods without Apotheosis: 45,065 queries skipped in a 5-minute client session, each identical to the posted event (shadow mode); Apotheosis listens, so with it the event is posted as before.
Bons and Furious is licensed GPL-3.0-only with upstream notices retained. Target mod names identify compatibility targets and do not imply endorsement; their code, assets and licenses remain their authors' property. All measurements on this wiki are focused method, phase or reproduction measurements from the pack the mod was built for, taken on the historical build named in each entry; they are not whole-game FPS or TPS promises and are not additive.
