Immersive Engineering

Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge: this page documents that build and its measurements. For the separate 170-control Minecraft 1.21.1 port, see Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.

One control for Immersive Engineering 10.2.0-183 (mod id immersiveengineering), a client-side fix: machine sounds no longer pile up while you wear IE's earmuffs. The switch checks the code it would change against the tested build; another build is left untouched with one WARN line (see How the patches are applied).

Since: 1.0.30 · Target: Immersive Engineering 10.2.0-183 · Side: CLIENT · Kind: fix

Mixins: MultiblockSoundMixin, SoundEngineReplacementMixin

Immersive Engineering machine sounds pile up under earmuffs. Immersive Engineering's machines (crusher, diesel generator, arc furnace and others) restart their machine sound whenever they think it stopped. With IE's earmuffs on, the earmuffs swap in a muffled copy of the sound, the machine no longer recognises it as its own and starts a new one every tick, 20 per second per machine, until no sound channel is left and other sounds stop playing. The switch lets the machine recognise its muffled copy, so one muffled sound plays, as intended. Sounds that nothing swapped play exactly as before.

Idea: Immersive Engineering issue #6378, issue text only

Measured: offline, with the earmuffs' real muffled sound: 149 machine sounds after 149 ticks before, 1 after; 2,000 random machine runs behave tick for tick as without earmuffs
