Background: Acolyte
You belong to something greater than yourself (a god, a pantheon, a cause, a truth), and in its service you found a purpose the world could not give you. You learned its rites and its scriptures, copied its holy words by candlelight until they were written on your heart, and learned to read the soul beneath the face of everyone who knelt to you for comfort or confession. Sometimes, when the need is real and your faith is steady, a prayer is answered, and even you cannot always say whether it was your hand or the power you serve. Whether you tend a quiet shrine or carry the word into the streets, you move through the world as its instrument, and those who share your faith will always know you for one of their own.
Anywhere your faith has taken root (a grand temple, a roadside shrine, a few believers gathered in secret), you and your companions can count on a welcome: a meal, a bed, care for your wounds, and sanctuary when you have nowhere else to turn. The faithful ask only that you honor the creed while you shelter beneath it. And where there is a congregation, there is always someone who needs what the devout can give (a blessing, a burial, a wrong set right), and they will bring it to you.
