Background: Farmer
You came up with dirt under your nails and the seasons in your bones. You know the weight of real work: the ache of a long harvest, the patience of raising a beast from a shaking newborn to a plow-puller, the quiet arithmetic of whether the rain will come before the seed rots. You can build a fence that holds, mend what breaks, read a sky, and calm a frightened animal with a hand and a low word. The land does not care who your father was or what gods you keep, and neither, in the end, do you. It taught you that anything worth having is grown slowly, and that a person who will not do the hard, dull work is not to be trusted with the rest.
Working people know one of their own. In any village, farmstead, or waystation, you can find a dry barn to sleep in, a plain meal, and hands willing to help someone who has clearly done a day's labor in their life. They will hide you from those who ride fine horses and ask hard questions, tend you when you are hurt, and in return they will tell you their troubles: the beast that has been taking the sheep, the tax collector who takes too much, the neighbor who walked into the woods and never came back. Small troubles, until they are yours to solve.
