Turn vanilla materials into civic items and fund your civilization’s shared projects.
This wiki documents Civilizations 1.0.1. Numbers are bundled defaults; in-game menus and previews show your server’s current values.
On this page: Five families, three tiers · Crafting and refining · Depositing and reading the GUI
Deposits are permanent. Refine physical items to the required tier before depositing, and keep your founding materials in your inventory until you have created your civilization.
Open /civ items to browse the custom items and click an item to see its recipe. The Other Items section contains Nether Ember, End Sigil, War Charter, and information on obtaining the tutorial book. Civic names use the same colors on physical items and in menus: Tier 1 green, Tier 2 cyan, Tier 3 purple.
| Family / persistent key | Tier 1 — green | Tier 2 — cyan | Tier 3 — purple |

Recipes produce authenticated items. An ordinary cobblestone renamed “Heavy Cobblestone” does not work. Custom item identity comes from persistent item data, not just its visible name or vanilla icon.
Each Tier 1 recipe is shapeless and produces one civic item:
| Output | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| Heavy Cobblestone | 9 cobblestone |
| Bound Timber | 9 accepted logs; accepted types may be mixed |
| Forged Components | 8 iron ingots + 1 charcoal |
| Research Folio | 8 paper + 1 ink sac |
| Arcane Matrix | 4 lapis lazuli + 4 redstone + 1 amethyst shard |
Accepted default logs are oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, and pale oak. Planks and other items are not a substitute for the accepted log materials.
Compress 9 identical items of the same family/tier into 1 of the next tier, using the crafting recipe or /civ refine. Thus 1 Tier 3 item represents 81 Tier 1 civic items. Refining also decompresses one Tier 3 into nine Tier 2, or one Tier 2 into nine Tier 1. Tier 1 items cannot be decompressed back into vanilla ingredients through this interface.
The refining menu operates on physical inventory items. It is useful to choose the required tiers before depositing.

/civ stockpile history
Deposits are permanent. There is no player command to withdraw items from the stockpile. They become numerical civilization balances used for claims, research, work orders, and other civic expenses. Creative deposits are disabled by default.
The stockpile GUI shows all civic items, including empty resources. Families are arranged in columns and tiers in rows. Stack counts show available quantities up to the inventory display limit of 64; hover for the exact total, including amounts above 64 and zero balances. Hover text also explains the tier and recipe. Use refresh to update balances and page controls when needed. It is a read-only view, not a chest you can take items from.
Existing authentic items are normalized to the consistent tier name colors when players join, open inventories, or pick them up. Renaming a catalog's persistent key or changing recipe identity is a server migration concern; players should use the current item menu.
