Star Wars FFG for Foundry VTT: new-user tutorial

A walk-through of the parts of the system a new table needs most. Each chapter is short: what the feature is, where to find it, the steps, and the things that catch people out.

The system has two sheet themes: Default and Codex II. Each user picks one for themselves. Screenshots show both wherever the two look different. The Codex sheet has its own guide: Codex II roll-in guide.

Part I: for the GM, before the first session

  1. Setting up content for character creation: the OggDude import and the settings the PC Wizard and the Hyperdrive importer read from
  2. Making a character: PC Wizard and Hyperdrive import
  3. Building the critical injury tables
  4. Group Manager, Destiny and granting XP
  5. Obligation, Duty and Morality rolls

Part II: at the table

  1. Edit Mode and Active Effects
  2. Spending XP as you play
  3. Rolling against adversaries, and how a target's defence changes the pool
  4. Changing a roll, before and after: editing the pool in the dialog, and rerolling, adding or removing dice on a posted card
  5. Initiative and the combat tracker
  6. Vehicles: crew and rolling
  7. Apply Damage and Apply Crit, and ammo
  8. Healing: stimpacks, repair patches and critical injuries
  9. Status effects: dice for the next check or the whole combat
  10. NPCs: minions, rivals, nemeses and adversaries: the Adversary Sheet, minion groups and group skills, Adversary ranks, and squadrons
  11. More worth knowing: Genesys mode, renaming Credits and Obligation, custom skill lists, macros, dice glyphs in journals, and the rest
