FAQ
On this page
- I forgot my password
- The price shows "—"
- I changed data but the statistics did not update?
- I want to start over
- Can several people use it together
Click "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in screen and enter your email:
- If a mail service is configured, you receive a reset link valid for 30 minutes.
- If not, the screen asks you to paste the recovery key (the file downloaded from Settings → Database encryption), and after pasting you can set a new password.
It means no quote can be found for now, possibly because:
- There is no network
- The request was rate-limited (too many in a short time)
- yfinance cannot find this stock (emerging or unlisted)
For the first two, wait a moment and click the circular-arrow icon at the top right (refresh quotes) again. For the third, enter a reference price under "Instruments".
Other numbers (cost, realized profit) are unaffected and stay correct.
Click the circular-arrow icon at the top right (hovering says "Refresh quotes"; "Last update 13:42" beside it is when the prices were actually fetched). All statistics are worked out live from the trade records, so there is no "cache not updated" problem; only prices are cached, for 15 minutes.
To clear only your data and keep the account: go to "Clear my data" under "Manage → Account", enter your password and tick "I understand this can’t be undone". Trades, dividends, cash, holdings, brokerage and cash accounts, the journal and all other records are deleted, back to a freshly created account (with a default brokerage account); the account, password, two-step verification, passkeys and settings (keys, language, display) stay, and other accounts are unaffected.
To remove the account too (for example the demo account): sign in to that account, go to "Delete this account" at the bottom of "Manage → Account", enter the password and tick "I understand this cannot be undone" (an account created with Google with no local password yet must set one under "Manage → Account → Password" first; your Google password can't be used). Only that account and its data are deleted, and other accounts are unaffected. Signing out does not delete data; it only ends the signed-in state.
Yes, each creating their own account. Each person sees only their own data.
But by default the program is bound only to this machine (127.0.0.1), so other computers cannot connect.
To really open it to others on your network, extra setup is needed, and we suggest asking someone who knows —
there is currently no encrypted connection.
