Bootstrapper Behaviour
The nav item labelled Bootstrapper controls what GokuTrap does when it launches Roblox. Its page title is Bootstrapper; the settings grouped on it cover launching, updates, cookie access and maintenance.
Default: on.
Prevents you from accidentally closing a running game by launching a second one. When Roblox is already open, GokuTrap asks before continuing.
Default: off.
Roblox's website only offers a subset of the languages its client supports. Enabling this allows GokuTrap to pass through unsupported languages.
Only applies to games launched from the Roblox website.
Default: off.
Roblox is installed fresh on the next launch. Use this when a version is corrupted or when you have changed something on disk that GokuTrap cannot detect. It costs a full re-download.
Default: on.
GokuTrap checks for and applies updates to itself when launching Roblox.
There is also a periodic in-app check (roughly every 15 minutes while the settings window is open) and a manual Check for updates / retry button. The full flow, including prereleases and rollback, is in Application-Updates.
Default: off.
Updates Roblox in the background instead of making you wait at launch.
- Needs at least 3 GB of free disk space.
- Not recommended on slow networks — a background download competes with whatever else you are doing.
Default: off.
Permits GokuTrap to make authenticated Roblox API requests using the authentication cookie Roblox already stored for your current Windows user.
What it does
- Decrypts the existing current-user DPAPI-protected cookie that Roblox wrote.
- Sends it as the
.ROBLOSECURITYcookie to Roblox endpoints, after validating that the request targets the Roblox host. - Allows Account-Profiles#Validating the desktop session to identify the signed-in account.
What it never does
- It never writes to, replaces or deletes Roblox's cookie store or any browser profile.
- It never transmits the cookie anywhere except Roblox.
- It never stores the cookie in
Settings.json, an account profile, or a log. - Account profiles contain public identity only — never session material.
GokuTrap clears and zeroes its in-memory copy of the secret when it is no longer needed, and invalidates the cached session on an HTTP 401.
Public profile features work with this off. Only desktop-session validation needs it. See Security-and-Privacy.
GokuTrap can remove old data on a schedule. Pick how old files must be before deletion:
| Age | Deletes files older than |
|---|---|
| Never | (cleaner disabled) |
| One day | 1 day |
| One week | 7 days |
| Two weeks | 14 days — default |
| One month | 30 days |
| Two months | 60 days |
Choose which targets to include:
| Target | Removes |
|---|---|
| Cache | Old Roblox downloads |
| Studio Cache | Old Roblox Studio downloads |
| Logs | Old Roblox log files |
| GokuTrap logs | GokuTrap's own log files |
The cleaner is a separate, opt-in tool. It is not the same thing as the working-set trim in Saiyan-Mode#Memory diagnostics, and it never runs automatically as part of a feature tool.
