Global Basic Settings
The Global settings page (GBS) pre-configures settings inside the Roblox client, so games start with your preferences instead of Roblox's defaults.
These are applied to Roblox's global basic settings at launch. They are distinct from FastFlags, which configure engine parameters.
| Setting | Options | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics Quality | Roblox's own quality levels | Sets the in-game graphics level |
| Framerate Limit | Roblox's limits, plus unlocked | Unlocks the cap. See the warning below |
| Font Size | x1, x2, x3, x4 | In-game UI font size |
| Transparency | 0–100 | UI transparency |
| Reduced Motion | On/off | Removes the animation on the escape menu. Useful for motion sensitivity |
| Mouse Sensitivity | Slider | How fast the in-game camera moves |
| VR Enabled | On/off | Client VR support flag |
| Set as Read-Only | On/off | See below |
Warning Going above 240 FPS is not recommended. Very high caps can increase CPU load, heat and power draw, and on some systems reduce stability rather than improve smoothness. Test before keeping it.
Marks the global settings as read-only so Roblox does not override what you configured. If Roblox seems to ignore your graphics quality or sensitivity, this is the setting to check — and possibly turn off.
These values are defaults applied at launch. An experience can still override them in-game, and Roblox can write back what you change during a session. If a setting does not stick, check Set as Read-Only first, then check whether the experience forces it.
