Deployment and Channel
The Deployment page changes which Roblox version GokuTrap installs and how it is fetched.
Warning These settings control which Roblox client you receive. Unless you know exactly why you need to change them, leave them alone — a wrong channel can leave you unable to launch, or unable to revert.
The default channel is production. GokuTrap also recognises live as equivalent to production.
Common channels include production, ptb, profile and similar Roblox-published names. If a channel does not exist or is private, GokuTrap reports "The specified channel either doesn't exist or is private" rather than silently falling back.
What happens when Roblox or GokuTrap wants to move you off your chosen channel:
| Option | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Change automatically (default) | Move without asking |
| Always prompt | Ask first |
| Never change | Refuse and tell you |
The page shows the resolved version, its GUID, its timestamp, and whether it is behind the default channel. When your channel is out of date, GokuTrap says so explicitly rather than launching silently on an old build.
Force GokuTrap to download a specific version by hash.
Do not change this unless you know what you are doing. Pinning to a hash pins you to that build; you will not receive channel updates until you clear it.
Defaults to roblox.com. You can point GokuTrap and Roblox at a different domain.
Warning Enter only domains you trust. This controls where your Roblox traffic — including authenticated requests — is sent. GokuTrap validates the format and rejects obviously invalid input, but it cannot tell you whether a domain is trustworthy.
Which client distribution GokuTrap uses.
Note You may not be able to revert an account's state after changing this.
Default: off.
Switch between version-xxxxxxxx style folders and BinaryType-based install directories. Turn this on only if a tool or guide requires the layout; changing it moves where versions are stored on disk.
- Version information comes from Roblox's public deployment endpoints.
- Connectivity is checked before a launch, so an outage produces a clear dialog instead of a hung bootstrapper.
- Non-default channels are checked more strictly — an unauthorised or unknown channel produces an explicit error, because silently using production would misrepresent which client you are running.
- Bootstrapper-Behaviour — automatic updates and reinstall
- Troubleshooting — "channel doesn't exist or is private"
- Platform-Limits — what GokuTrap cannot control about Roblox's servers
