A guide to FastFlags

FastFlags are Roblox engine configuration values. GokuTrap writes them into the client's settings before launch.

Start with the allowlist

Roblox only applies allowlisted FastFlags.

A flag that is not on Roblox's published local-configuration allowlist may be ignored entirely, and Roblox can change that list at any time. No flag can promise a specific outcome.

That single fact explains most "my flag does nothing" reports.

The presets

GokuTrap ships presets for the common cases, so you rarely need to write raw flags.

Rendering and graphics

Preset What it does
Anti-aliasing quality (MSAA) Default, 1x, 2x, 4x
Rendering mode Default, Vulkan, or D3D11
Geometry Controls 3D geometry rendering
Mesh detail Controls mesh detail — lower qualities can make meshes disappear
FRM Quality Override Render quality level; rendering only, no network settings

User interface

Preset What it does
Fullscreen titlebar Stops the title bar appearing when the mouse reaches the top of the screen

Roblox menu

The menu debloat preset reduces the in-game menu using flags.

DPI scaling fixes

Roblox reduces its render quality when Windows display scaling is not 100%. This is a long-standing behaviour that makes the game look worse on high-DPI displays without changing anything you can see in the settings menu.

Enable Preserve rendering quality with display scaling on the FastFlags page.

You can also fix the scaling side:

  • Set as Read-Only in Global-Basic-Settings prevents Roblox overriding the values you supply.
  • Roblox uses exclusive fullscreen via Alt+Enter by default. If the game looks wrong at a particular scaling level, try borderless or windowed mode before changing flags.

Turning flags off entirely

Allow GokuTrap to manage Fast Flags, at the top of the FastFlags page, is a master switch. With it off, nothing configured on that page reaches Roblox.

That is the fastest way to be certain your client is running untouched — useful when diagnosing whether a flag is responsible for a problem.

The raw flag editor

A separate page, reachable only by deliberately opening it, lets you set arbitrary flags by name and value.

Use with caution. GokuTrap does not validate these. A wrong value can degrade or break your client.

If a flag you set causes problems, remove it, or use Reset everything to defaults.

If a flag seems to do nothing

  1. Is Allow GokuTrap to manage Fast Flags on?
  2. Is the flag on the allowlist? If not, Roblox is ignoring it — nothing you can do from the client side.
  3. Did you restart Roblox? Flags are written at launch.
  4. Does your client version still honour it? Allowlists change.
  5. Is the experience overriding it? Experiences can force their own settings.
