Sound Packs
Sound packs let you replace five audio slots: two in GokuTrap itself and three inside the Roblox client.
Off by default. Importing a file does not apply it — you enable the slot and press Save enabled slots.
| Slot | Where it plays | Accepted formats |
|---|---|---|
| Launcher startup ambience | GokuTrap, when it opens | MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A |
| Launcher Player-start success cue | GokuTrap, when Roblox starts | MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A |
| Character jump | Roblox — action_jump.mp3
|
MP3 only |
| Character footsteps | Roblox — action_footsteps_plastic.mp3
|
MP3 only |
| Character get-up | Roblox — action_get_up.mp3
|
MP3 only |
Those three are existing Roblox client assets with an .mp3 extension. GokuTrap will not transcode by renaming a file — a renamed WAV would fail to decode in-game and would leave you with a broken asset. If you want to use a WAV or other format for a character slot, convert it to MP3 first.
Launcher cues are played by Windows through a chosen codec, so they accept more formats. Even there, playback depends on the codecs installed on your machine.
Press Browse & import audio…
A file must be:
- readable,
- carrying a recognised format header, and
- between 1 byte and 20 MiB.
Anything else is rejected with: "Audio must be readable, have a recognized format header, and be between 1 byte and 20 MiB."
Header validation does not certify the entire audio stream. A file with a valid header can still fail to decode fully. This is why the app reports playback failures honestly rather than claiming success.
- Your file is copied into GokuTrap's managed storage — it does not reference your original path, so moving or deleting the original will not break the slot.
- GokuTrap records a SHA-256 hash of each managed file and which assets it owns.
- One asset per slot. A slot that already has an asset must be removed before importing a replacement.
Preview asks Windows to open the file for playback. The honest outcomes are:
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Windows opened the audio preview for playback." | Handed to Windows |
| "Audio preview could not be decoded." | No codec for this format — use MP3 or WAV, or install a codec |
No game event is triggered by a preview.
Press Save enabled slots.
- Launcher slots — take effect immediately.
- Character slots — take effect on the next launch, when GokuTrap applies client modifications.
If a slot cannot be applied, GokuTrap reports how many and why (missing asset, permission, or a conflicting mod you own) and skips it rather than overwriting anything. Unrelated mods are preserved.
Remove & restore original on a slot:
- deletes GokuTrap's managed copy,
- removes GokuTrap's copy from the client,
- and the original Roblox asset is restored at the next launch.
Theme definition only — no copyrighted audio is bundled or distributed.
The theme is a named set of preferences for your own licensed files. You supply the audio; GokuTrap ships none. Import only content you have the rights to use.
- No respawn, teleport or hit-event audio. Only the five slots listed above are addressable.
- No guarantee an experience honours these assets. Experiences can override client audio.
- No multi-asset or layered sounds per slot.
Importing audio is entirely your responsibility. GokuTrap ships no copyrighted recordings. If a file you import is not yours to use, that is on you — see Security-and-Privacy.
