Getting Started
This page walks through installing GokuTrap and launching your first session.
GokuTrap targets Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. See System-Requirements for the full list.
Grab the Windows x64 executable from the official releases page. Do not download from third-party sites — see Downloads-and-Verification.
GokuTrap ships as a single-file executable. The first run opens an installer because no installation exists yet.
- Install location — you can choose where GokuTrap lives. It must be a folder you can write to; GokuTrap never requests administrator elevation.
- Desktop / Start Menu shortcuts — optional, and created at your request.
-
Migration — if GokuTrap detects an existing Bloxstrap or Fishstrap installation in
%LOCALAPPDATA%, the installer offers to import your settings. Importable items areSettings.json,CustomThemesandModifications.
The installer copies itself to GokuTrap.exe inside the chosen folder and registers an uninstall entry under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GokuTrap. Because the registration is per-user, uninstalling does not require elevation.
Once installed, opening GokuTrap shows the launch menu:
- Launch Roblox — start the Roblox Player
- Launch Roblox Studio — start Roblox Studio (only if Studio is present)
- Configure settings — open the settings window
- Join our Discord server
- Having an issue? — a link back to this wiki
See Launch-Menu for detail.
GokuTrap installs or updates Roblox, then applies your saved configuration and starts the client. The bootstrapper window reports each stage — installing, applying modifications, configuring, connecting, starting. The exact style of that window is yours to choose; see Bootstrapper-Styles.
Most people start with these pages:
- Appearance — theme, language, icons
- Mods — cursors, fonts, character sounds
- FastFlags and Global-Basic-Settings — engine and in-game defaults
- Feature-Tools-Overview — the optional Saiyan and feature tools
Settings are saved with the Save button in the settings window. A Save and launch button saves and then starts Roblox in one step.
- GokuTrap never asks for administrator privileges. If something needs elevation, it fails safely and tells you rather than prompting.
- Bootstrapper-Behaviour#Cookie access and only ever reads a cookie Roblox itself already stored for the current Windows user. It never writes to it.
- Every tool in Feature-Tools-Overview starts disabled. Nothing changes your Roblox client until you turn something on and apply it.
- If something goes wrong, start at Troubleshooting — most problems are a wrong install location, a locked executable, or a stale log.
