Allowlist (FastFlag)

The published list of FastFlags Roblox will actually honour from local configuration. Roblox ignores anything not on it. Reviewed for this project on 2026-10-05. See FastFlags.

Atomic replacement

Swapping one file for another in a single operation so that a crash can never leave a half-written file. GokuTrap uses Windows File.Replace for the updater.

Bootstrapper

The window GokuTrap shows while installing, configuring and starting Roblox. Its style is user-selectable. See Bootstrapper-Styles.

Bootstrapper style

The visual design of that window — Fluent, terminal, legacy, and so on. Purely cosmetic.

Channel

Which Roblox release stream to install from, for example production. See Deployment-and-Channel.

Client settings

Roblox's own configuration file, regenerated by GokuTrap at each launch from your FastFlags and Global-Basic-Settings choices.

Click-through

A window that ignores mouse input, passing it to whatever is behind it. GokuTrap's overlay uses WS_EX_TRANSPARENT.

Distribution

A Roblox client variant, such as Global. Different distributions have different data directories.

DPAPI

Windows Data Protection API. Encrypts data tied to a Windows user account. GokuTrap uses it read-only, to decrypt the cookie Roblox already stored.

Efficiency class

A Windows-reported CPU property. A higher class means a faster, more power-efficient processor — but only where distinct classes exist. Not a cache-topology signal. See Saiyan-Mode.

FastFlag

A Roblox engine configuration value written into client settings before launch. Only allowlisted flags take effect.

GBS

Global Basic Settings — in-game defaults such as graphics quality, framerate cap, UI transparency and sensitivity. See Global-Basic-Settings.

Global settings

The GBS page in the navigation pane.

Handoff

GokuTrap starting another instance of itself to perform a task, notably the -upgrade handoff. See Command-Line-and-Handoff.

Managed asset

A file GokuTrap copied into its own storage and tracks ownership of, so it can restore the original later. Used for sound packs.

Non-activating

A window that never takes keyboard focus (WS_EX_NOACTIVATE). GokuTrap's overlay uses this so Roblox keeps focus.

PE executable

The Windows executable format. The updater validates that a downloaded asset really is an x64 PE binary rather than a renamed archive.

Preset

A named bundle of settings — a FastFlag preset, a GBS preset, or a Community Hub preset.

Release notes

Text published with a GitHub release. GokuTrap displays release notes as plain text and never executes anything in them.

Restore journal

A record of the exact settings GokuTrap changed, so only those can be put back.

Single-flight

Allowing only one operation of a kind at a time, so a second click does not start a duplicate. The updater and catalog refresh use this.

Staging

Downloading an update to a temporary location and verifying it before replacing the installed file.

Topmost

A window that stays above other windows. The overlay is topmost, which is also why exclusive fullscreen can hide it.

Version package

A downloaded Roblox client build, stored under <install>\Versions\.

Watcher

The background component that observes Roblox processes. It applies and restores the Saiyan policy, manages the overlay, and supplies place context for the radar and integrations — all within about five seconds of a settings change.
