Appearance

The Appearance page controls how GokuTrap and Roblox look.

Global theme

Option Notes
System default Follows your Windows app theme
Light Force light
Dark Force dark

Dark theme does not apply to the Legacy or Vista bootstrapper styles — those reproduce historical dialogs and keep their original colours. See Bootstrapper-Styles.

Acrylic backdrop

Option Notes
Acrylic backdrop Frosted-glass backdrop behind the settings window and dialogs
Acrylic backdrop opacity 0–255; default 165

Note Acrylic does not work on Windows 11, where the underlying composition behaviour changed. The toggle remains available but has no visible effect there.

Language

Selects the interface language. A relaunch is required for the change to take effect.

Some text may still appear in English even after choosing a language, because a string may not yet have a translation for that locale. Missing translations fall back to English rather than showing a key name — see Localization.

Bootstrapper appearance

Option Notes
Style Which bootstrapper design to use. See Bootstrapper-Styles
Bootstrapper Icon Icon shown in the bootstrapper window and taskbar
Roblox icon Icon Roblox itself shows on the taskbar
Bootstrapper Title The text shown as the bootstrapper window title
Roblox title The title of the Roblox window
Custom Icon Your own multi-size .ico, sizes 16 px to 128 px

Available bootstrapper icons

GokuTrap, GokuTrap (Alt), 2008, 2011, Early 2015, Late 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022, and Custom.

To use a custom icon, select Custom and then point Custom Icon at your .ico file. The file must be a genuine multi-resolution icon; a single-image file renamed to .ico will not work.

Custom icons

A custom icon must be a real multi-size .ico containing sizes 16 px, 24 px, 32 px, 48 px, 64 px and 128 px.

  1. Select Custom under Bootstrapper Icon.
  2. Set Custom Icon to your file.
  3. Press Preview to check it before launching.

Why the sizes matter: GokuTrap selects the icon frame that best matches the size it is drawn at, rather than whichever frame the file happens to store first. A file containing only one small size will be stretched and look blurry.

To extract GokuTrap's bundled icons for your own use, see Using-Roblox-icons-for-your-shortcuts.

Customisation

The Customisation section lets you browse and delete custom themes — your own XML-authored bootstrapper designs. See Bootstrapper-Styles#Custom styles.

The Preview button shows the currently selected style without launching Roblox.

Effect on Roblox

Only the Roblox icon and Roblox title options affect the Roblox client itself. Everything else is GokuTrap's own interface. Roblox theme (dark or light inside the Roblox app) is a separate setting in Integrations.
