Troubleshooting
Start with the symptom that matches yours.

Check the log. GokuTrap's most recent log is in
<install>\Logs\. See File-Locations. Most failures are explained there with more precision than the UI gives. - Note your versions — GokuTrap and Windows. See About.
- Close other GokuTrap instances. Duplicate instances are the cause of a surprising number of update and lock problems.
GokuTrap needs a folder it can write to, and it never requests elevation. A location such as C:\Program Files\... will fail for a standard user. Choose a folder under your user profile.
The installer performs a write test before accepting a location.
GokuTrap could not find its installation folder. Usually this means the folder was moved or deleted while the per-user uninstall registration remained. Either restore the folder or run the executable again to reinstall.
Another GokuTrap instance, or Roblox, is holding the file. Close both and retry.

- Allow GokuTrap to manage Fast Flags must be on. See FastFlags.
- Roblox may be ignoring the flag because it is not on the allowlist. See Platform-Limits.
- FastFlags and Global-Basic-Settings are applied at launch — a client started before you saved will not have them.
- Set as Read-Only in Global-Basic-Settings can prevent Roblox writing back your settings, and vice versa can cause Roblox to overwrite them.
You may have selected a broken custom theme. Switch back to the GokuTrap style in Appearance.
"No accessible installed Roblox Player instance was found."
The policy is only applied to processes verified as Roblox Player and verified to run from an installed location. An unusual install path, or a Player started some other way, will not match. Launch Roblox through GokuTrap and retry.
"Windows denied or could not perform the action. No elevation was requested; Roblox can continue normally."
GokuTrap never elevates. If your account or a security product blocks it, that is the end of it — do not run GokuTrap as administrator to work around it.
Restart Roblox. Forced termination means GokuTrap cannot restore what it captured. Roblox applies its own defaults on a fresh start. See Feature-Tools-Overview#On shutdown.
"Audio preview could not be decoded."
Windows has no codec for that format. Use MP3 or WAV, which are supported everywhere. Note that the three Roblox character slots require MP3 regardless. See Sound-Packs.
GokuTrap reports how many slots failed and why — missing asset, permission, or a conflicting mod you own. Conflicting mods are preserved, not overwritten. Remove the conflict and save again.
Character slots only apply on the next launch.
The desktop client is not signed in, or its session expired. Use the official sign-in handoff, complete sign-in in the Roblox desktop client, then refresh. See Account-Profiles.
Signing in on the website may not authenticate the desktop client — they can hold different sessions.
Remember that validation status resets every time GokuTrap starts. That is deliberate.
Likely offline, rate-limited, or a 404. GokuTrap keeps the last valid catalog and tells you which one you have. See Community-Hub.
Discovery needs to know which place you want a server for. Join an experience with activity tracking enabled, then retry. See Integrations#Activity tracking.
Only the first 100 public servers Roblox's API returns are checked, and there is a 30 second cooldown between searches. "No matching public server with capacity was verified" means exactly that — your current session was not changed.

Copy <install>\GokuTrap.exe.rollback over GokuTrap.exe. This is manual — GokuTrap is not a crash detector. See Application-Updates#Rollback.
Acrylic does not work on Windows 11. The option remains available but has no effect there.
A relaunch is required. See Localization.
Some text may still be English — that is an untranslated string falling back, not a failure.
- The Discord desktop app must be installed and running — the mobile app is not enough.
- Activity tracking must be enabled.
- See the "Not working?" link in the UI.
Requires activity tracking and the Discord desktop app running. GokuTrap states this rather than failing silently.
Open an issue with:
- GokuTrap version and Windows version
- the relevant log excerpt from
<install>\Logs\ - what you expected, and what happened instead
If the problem involves a feature tool, also say whether you were able to reproduce it with that tool disabled — that isolates the cause quickly.
