16 Capability Models

Non-chat models are configured per capability: embedding, rerank, multimodal, ASR, TTS, image, video. Domestic vendor APIs differ; an adapter layer normalizes calls.

Settings

Settings → Models exposes chat models plus capability slots. Local embedding implementations may be bundled (DEV-007). Provider id space includes DIY vendors and future kepcup supplier (34-Supplier).

Adapter contract

Each capability defines request/response shapes, size limits, and error mapping. Connectivity test (providers.test) takes a capability argument.

Memory rerank

Retrieval can optionally rerank with the configured rerank model. Embedding/rerank stay internal — not exposed as Bot tools (25-Capability-Tools covers understand_image / transcribe_audio instead).
