Upgrade/Migration

3.4.4 is a bug-fix release for 3.4. There is a newer release: release 3.5.0 It is very simple and safe to upgrade to that release: there are changes but only few extensions the database.

You can upgrade from 3.3.x to any 3.4.x directly, however: read the 3.4.0 Release notes first. The installation procedure of 3.4 is totally different from 3.3 and earlier.

Changes in 3.4.4

The #XXX numbers refer to internal issue numbers, which are not publicly available. E#X are external issue numbers, hence visible in this repository.

This release fixes some things in the 3.4.3 release which complicated fresh installations of Taranis.

Known issues

We will prepare a 3.4.5 to fix these issues, but until then please solve this yourself:

• When you get 'ERROR: illegal version number '3.4.*.tar.gz', then move /home/taranis/taranis-*.tar.gz to /tmp (internal issue 241)

You do not need to report these known issues again, but we would really like to know about other problems and inconveniences experienced during installation. We lack resources to test all "supported" Linux environments for each minor release.
