Thanks for your interest in contributing to GameAtlas.
GameAtlas is an open-source PC gaming companion for Windows and Linux. Contributions are welcome across code, documentation, testing, bug reports, feature suggestions, and platform-specific improvements.
You do not need to be an expert in every part of the project to contribute.
You can help GameAtlas by:
- Reporting bugs
- Suggesting features
- Improving documentation
- Testing Windows builds
- Testing Linux builds
- Testing game detection
- Testing launcher support
- Improving hardware detection
- Improving controller detection
- Improving performance diagnostics
- Adding platform-specific fixes
- Submitting code changes
Before opening an issue or pull request:
- Check whether the problem or feature already has an existing issue.
- Confirm you are testing with a recent GameAtlas version.
- Reproduce the issue if possible.
- Collect useful logs, screenshots, or error messages.
- Identify whether the issue is Windows-specific, Linux-specific, or cross-platform.
Clear reproduction information makes problems much easier to investigate.
Bug reports are valuable, especially when they include enough information to reproduce the issue.
A good bug report should include:
- GameAtlas version
- Operating system
- Distribution, if using Linux
- Game title, if applicable
- Launcher or installation source
- Expected behavior
- Actual behavior
- Steps to reproduce
- Error messages
