Installation Windows
GameAtlas Windows releases are distributed through the GitHub Releases page.
- Download the Windows installer from the matching release.
- Exit an older GameAtlas instance before starting the installer.
- Run the installer and follow its prompts.
- Launch GameAtlas from the Start menu or installed shortcut.
Only download installers from the official repository. If Windows displays a reputation or security prompt, verify that the filename and release source are correct before continuing.
GameAtlas scans supported launcher metadata and builds the local library. Keep the relevant launchers installed and allow GameAtlas to read their local manifests, registry data, or package information.
See Getting Started, Game Detection, and Supported Launchers.
GameAtlas uses signed updater artifacts for supported releases. Update notifications link the installed application to the matching GitHub release metadata.
GameAtlas detects Vortex support and modding resources on Windows, but the Linux managed deployment interface is intentionally unavailable. Use the official Vortex application or a game-specific Windows mod manager for deployment.
See Vortex.
If installation or startup fails:
- Confirm the download completed.
- Verify you selected the Windows artifact rather than the Linux AppImage.
- Close any existing GameAtlas process.
- Review Windows Security or antivirus notifications.
- Re-download the installer from the official release if its integrity is uncertain.
For application and game-detection issues, see Troubleshooting.
