Getting Started
Welcome to GameAtlas.
GameAtlas is designed to give you a unified view of your installed PC games while also surfacing useful tools, diagnostics, compatibility information, modding resources, save management, and system information.
This guide covers the basic workflow from installation through selecting and inspecting your first game.
For a current overview of the 2.4 toolset, see Features. Linux users interested in managed mods should also read Linux Mod Manager and Nexus Mods Integration.
Choose the installation guide for your operating system:
After installation, launch GameAtlas normally from your desktop environment or application menu.
When GameAtlas starts, it scans supported game sources on your system and builds your local game library.
Depending on your operating system, GameAtlas may inspect sources such as:
- Steam
- Epic Games Launcher
- GOG Galaxy
- Ubisoft Connect
- EA App
- Xbox / Microsoft Store
- Steam
- Heroic Games Launcher
- Lutris
- Native Linux game installations
- Proton and Wine-based installations discovered through supported launchers
For a complete list, see Supported Launchers.
GameAtlas automatically looks for installed games using locally available launcher and installation metadata.
Detected games are added to the GameAtlas library.
Depending on the size of your library and the number of launchers installed, the initial scan may take a little longer than later refreshes.
GameAtlas attempts to determine information such as:
- Game title
- Installation location
- Executable
- Launcher or source
- Local version information
- Available game-specific integrations
See Game Detection for more information about how discovery works.
After scanning is complete, your detected games appear in the GameAtlas library.
Games from different launchers are presented together so you do not need to browse each launcher separately.
For example, a Windows system may contain games installed through:
Steam
Epic Games Launcher
GOG Galaxy
Ubisoft Connect
EA App
Xbox
