Installation Linux
GameAtlas Linux releases are distributed as signed x86_64 AppImages through the GitHub Releases page.
-
Download
GameAtlas_<version>_x86_64.AppImagefrom the matching release. -
Optionally download
SHA256SUMS-LINUX.txtand verify the file:sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS-LINUX.txt
-
Mark the AppImage executable:
chmod +x GameAtlas_<version>_x86_64.AppImage
-
Run it from your file manager or terminal:
./GameAtlas_<version>_x86_64.AppImage
You can place the AppImage in a stable user-writable applications folder before creating a desktop shortcut or associating nxm:// links.
Keep GameAtlas and its data in user-writable storage. On Bazzite, /home/<user> and /var/home/<user> refer to the same home directory.
If an AppImage does not start, confirm it is executable and that your distribution supports AppImages. Launch it from a terminal once to view any missing-library or permission message.
- MangoHud is required for Performance Capture on Linux.
-
lsarandunarare required for RAR and 7z extraction in Linux Mod Manager. - Individual diagnostics may report additional graphics or runtime utilities.
Install optional tools using the method recommended by your distribution. GameAtlas itself does not require modifying an immutable system image for ordinary use.
The packaged Linux build registers support for nxm:// links. Launch GameAtlas at least once from its final location before testing Mod Manager Download from Nexus Mods. Desktop integration behavior can vary by browser and environment.
If the browser does not offer GameAtlas:
- Confirm you are running the packaged build rather than only a development window.
- Keep the AppImage at the same path used when it was registered.
- Check the desktop environment's default application for the
nxmscheme. - Relaunch GameAtlas and request a fresh link.
Official packages include signed updater metadata. GameAtlas can notify you when a compatible release is available. You can also replace the AppImage manually with a verified newer version.
