Hardware Detection

GameAtlas detects gaming-relevant system hardware and uses that information throughout the application.

Hardware detection supports several features, including:

  • Performance diagnostics
  • GPU selection checks
  • Display and refresh-rate analysis
  • Controller detection
  • Driver diagnostics
  • Shader cache management
  • Platform-specific troubleshooting

The exact information available depends on the operating system and hardware configuration.

What GameAtlas Detects

GameAtlas can identify system information such as:

  • CPU
  • GPU
  • System memory
  • Storage
  • Displays
  • Refresh rate
  • Connected controllers
  • Operating system information

Some platforms expose more detail than others.

CPU Detection

GameAtlas detects the processor installed in the system.

CPU information can help provide context for:

  • Performance diagnostics
  • CPU bottlenecks
  • Game requirements
  • Threading-related issues
  • Platform compatibility

Depending on the platform, GameAtlas may surface information such as:

  • CPU model
  • Manufacturer
  • Core and thread information
  • Architecture

CPU detection is used primarily as diagnostic context rather than as a benchmark.

GPU Detection

GPU detection is one of the most important hardware features in GameAtlas.

GameAtlas can detect graphics adapters from vendors such as:

  • NVIDIA
  • AMD
  • Intel

This includes systems with:

  • A single dedicated GPU
  • Integrated graphics
  • Integrated and dedicated graphics
  • Multiple dedicated GPUs

GPU information is used throughout the app for features such as:

  • Performance diagnostics
  • Wrong-GPU detection
  • Driver diagnostics
  • Shader cache management
  • Display analysis

See Performance Diagnostics.

Multiple GPUs

GameAtlas supports systems with more than one graphics adapter.

Examples include:

Integrated GPU + Dedicated GPU
