FAQ
These answers cover the common first questions about Chroma Studio.
No. Chroma runs on your client. Matching, palettes and exports work on a server without it. Getting items, dyeing and hotbar fill need creative mode or operator rights.
Chroma exports schematics. Export and place loads a placement into Litematica or Forgematica. That doesn't place world blocks. WorldEdit's Send asks the server to run the shown command.
It contains several different colours. Up close, matching compares their shares. Increase the viewing distance if you care about how the whole block looks from farther away. See Texture and viewing distance.
The biome changes its tint. Use Chosen to compare in your intended biome. All shows the range but still scores where you stand. See Biome tints.
Wait for the index to finish, then try Reset filters under More…. Too many filters can leave no candidates. For a gradient, try another Kind or fewer steps.
Presets are read-only. Press Copy to make your own editable version. Adding a Match result while a preset is selected also starts an editable palette.
Palettes are in <game>/config/chromastudio/palettes/. Schematics use the Export folder override, Litematica's folder when available, or <game>/schematics/. See Sharing palettes and Export and Litematica.
A pack edited under the same id can keep its cached pixels. Press Refresh beside Reset in Settings' Block index group. It reads every texture afresh. See Resource packs and modded blocks.
Their colour is a guess from a particle texture. Turn Chests and banners on under More… to include them in Match. Gradient still leaves out blocks without a drawing model.
Install a recipe viewer for Minecraft 26.3, hover a Match result, and check Recipe key in Settings. JEI and REI have tested integrations.
