Shorts plugin

Shorts presents eligible short videos in a vertical, swipe-oriented experience. Eligibility is based on the configured duration range; it does not automatically crop landscape video or improve poor mobile encoding.

Setup

1. Open Admin → Plugins → Shorts, enable it, and open its parameters.
2. Review shortMinDurationInSeconds and shortMaxDurationInSeconds (current defaults: 2 and 60 seconds).
3. Upload a disposable vertical video through the Encoder.
4. Test portrait/landscape phones, sound start, captions, seeking and access control.

Use a web-compatible vertical source and poster. Browser autoplay policies may start a short muted until the viewer interacts.

Common questions

Why is my short missing? Check final encoded duration, active/privacy status and whether the active layout exposes Shorts.

Will it convert a horizontal video to vertical? No. Prepare/crop the source intentionally before upload.

Does the duration setting limit uploads? It identifies/filters Shorts behavior; confirm normal catalog behavior separately.
