Settings: Map

The guide adds exploration artwork, landmarks and travel information to the normal world map. It includes its own waypoint and instance-map tools.

Map controls

Setting Behaviour
Map guide Master switch for the guide and its subfeatures.
Reveal unexplored terrain Draw available game map art before personal discovery.
Fog on unexplored areas Light veil over revealed but unvisited terrain.
Map levels Zone and instance recommendations coloured for your character.
Neighboring zone passages Arrows for supported road/tunnel/lift/city connections.
Boats & zeppelins Transport points and destinations.
Flight points Supported faction-appropriate flight points.
Dungeon & raid entrances Entrance landmarks.
Dungeon & raid maps Browse the packaged/supported client instance artwork.

These switches are account-wide and initially on. Subfeatures require Map guide to be enabled.

Visual reveal is not exploration completion

Revealed art does not mark the area as visited, grant exploration credit or replace actually travelling there. The veil disappears when the client records discovery.

Passage-arrow colours

Colours describe the destination's territory relative to your faction:

Colour Meaning
Green Friendly territory.
Red Opposing-faction territory.
Yellow Contested or neutral territory.
Grey Faction/territory information unavailable.

These arrows mark known crossings. They are not automatic route planning and do not guarantee a safe or level-appropriate journey.

Marker interactions

Action Result
Hover Show the point/destination and available details.
Left-click a supported landmark Set a waypoint.
Left-click the same selected landmark Clear its waypoint.
Right-click a transport or passage marker Open the destination map when supported.
Right-click an instance entrance Open an inline instance-floor preview when available and enabled.

A dedicated X map control can clear the current waypoint. A waypoint is a selected destination, not an automatic journey or character movement.

The chosen waypoint is stored per character.

Level colours

Level recommendations are red below, green within and grey above the range. Zone ranges and dungeon recommendations are separate datasets.

A level recommendation is not a combat-difficulty guarantee.

Dungeon and raid atlas

The map's instance-map button opens an atlas/browser within the map viewport. Available content includes the packaged support for City of Dalaran, Underbelly, Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron and Excavation Site: Wetlands, in addition to the other listed instance maps.

Use the floor/navigation controls where available. Close the viewer with X, Escape or a supported background right-click.

Artwork comes from the client. Some custom floors use minimap-style tiles, including native blank patches. Such a patch is not automatically an addon texture failure.

Scope

No external map-art or waypoint addon is required for these packaged functions. Coverage is limited to known points and supported maps; do not assume every route, instance or floor exists in the catalogue.

Transport points do not provide a promised live departure schedule. The guide does not document a quest-ordering or levelling-route engine.
