Features Overview
The app attaches to FIFA 16's memory to read the current match context — home team, competition, round — and automatically applies whichever stadium, scoreboard, TV logo, movie, and chants you've assigned to that match. Assignments can be set by home team, round, tournament, or a default fallback — and, for scoreboards, TV logos and movies, by one specific fixture (a derby) — so there's no manual file-swapping before each match.
A fullscreen overlay renders directly on top of FIFA 16 — even in exclusive fullscreen — so you can assign assets without ever leaving the game. As of v1.6.0 the menu is rendered by RmlUi instead of the old hand-rolled D3D11 renderer:
- Open with F12, or hold Start / Menu on a gamepad for 0.6 seconds; press F12 again (or use the controller) to close it.
- Fully navigable with keyboard, controller, or mouse — click tabs, rows, and the scrollbar directly, with a tab indicator that glides smoothly between selections.
- The panel can be dragged and resized like a real window, and remembers its position/size across close/reopen.
- Live preview images/video for stadiums, scoreboards, TV logos, and movies, shown inline as you browse.
- A live scoreboard widget (both crests, score, match clock) on the dashboard.
- A country filter panel on the Stadiums tab (gamepad Y, or a mouse "Filter" button) with multi-select by country code and an A-Z/Z-A sort toggle.
- A manual in-game stadium picker when random stadium selection is turned off — see Manual Stadium Picker & Multi-Stadium Assignments.
- The Stadiums tab's assign wizard also covers Goalpost Model and Goalpost Texture (after Police/Pitch/Net), with previews — see Goalpost Model & Texture Packs.
- A Kits tab to cycle Kit Sets in-game with F7–F11 — see Kit Sets.
- Shows the active assignment mode (Round, Tournament, Derby, Home Team, or Default) for each asset type.
- The Scoreboards, TV Logos and Movies tabs offer a Derby scope next to Home Team / Round / Tournament, to assign a pack to the fixture being played — see Derby Assignments.
- Can be disabled entirely from the settings panel if you only want the desktop window; an overlay performance mode is also available for lower-end setups, which skips thumbnail/preview rendering in the overlay.
⚠ Known limitation: a mouse click can still also reach FIFA's own menu underneath while the overlay is open, since FIFA reads mouse input through exclusive DirectInput rather than window messages. Mouse works fine for navigating the CGFS menu itself — just be mindful of where you click on screen while it's open.
- Assign stadiums per home team, round, or full tournament, plus randomized multi-stadium rotations — or turn randomization off and pick manually in-game; see Manual Stadium Picker & Multi-Stadium Assignments.
- A team/round/tournament can hold more than one stadium at once, each with its own independently-editable Police/Pitch/Net/Goalpost values.
- Load stadiums from a plain folder or from
.zip/.rararchives — archives are extracted on the fly to a temp folder and cleaned up automatically afterward. - Optional preview images shown on the dashboard, the Assign Stadium window, and the loading modal.
- Per-stadium gameplay camera overrides so the Broadcast camera's height/position can be tuned to each stadium's own geometry.
- Per-stadium goalpost model and texture/color packs — two independent, freely mixable packs instead of one bundled folder — plus crowd-chair replacement (
NoSeats.rx3) and stadium-specific movies/bumpers. See Goalpost Model & Texture Packs. - Shared Entrance Camera packs: assign one exterior camera to as many stadiums as you like, instead of copying it into each stadium's
EntranceScene/— see Entrance Camera Packs. - Per-stadium net values (depth, rig, shape and tension) — see Stadium Net Values.
- Custom pre-match stadium display names (
scoreboardstdname) now actually render on FIFA's presentation screen — see Custom Stadium Display Name. - Each of these can be switched on or off individually from the Dashboard's grouped Modules card — see Dashboard Modules.
Supports Anth's FIFA 16 AIO Camera Mod Package out of the box. Presets are auto-discovered with their own preview images, applied with one click, and REGENERATOR.exe is launched automatically afterward if it's present next to your FIFA install.
Build a custom kit per team and kit type (home / away / keeper / third) without hand-editing .rx3 files. Two tabs cover two different workflows:
- Advanced — mix a jersey texture from one kit source with the shorts/socks from a different source, applied live; swap kit numbers and the kit-selection UI thumbnail independently of the jersey texture; pick a jersey name text color, including ready-made swatches parsed from any Lua bundled with the kit source; selectively restore exactly what you changed — texture, numbers, thumbnail, or name color — for one team + kit type, without touching the rest.
- Simple (Kit Sets) — pick a ready-made kit set (jersey + numbers + thumbnail together) and apply it in one action, with an optional linked goalkeeper kit per tournament; cycle through kit sets in-game with F7–F11 without opening the menu at all. See Kit Sets.
- Kit-selection UI thumbnails can now be baked directly from a loose
.png/.jpgimage instead of needing a hand-prepared.ddsfile. - Browsable Team Picker dialogs with crest previews and search replace plain dropdowns in the "Pick Team" flow.
Four additional per-round asset assignments, editable from the Settings Editor's Match Assets tab (with a texture preview of each pack): match Ball, Referee kits, Wipe transition animations, and Adboard pitch-side advertising. Each has its own switch in the Dashboard's Modules card. See Ball, Referee, Wipe & Adboard Folders for folder layout.
Unpacks vanilla FIFA game content (database, kit textures/numbers/thumbnails, team crests, league logos) into loose files, which is what lets Kit Mixer changes apply without restarting FIFA. Recommended for vanilla installs only — extracting over a total-conversion mod can overwrite and corrupt its custom content.
Raise FIFA 16's hardcoded 3-substitution-per-match limit to anywhere from 1–9 (1–5 have been validated in live testing). The app arms the change automatically at the right point in the match and applies it for both teams, with real-time status messages and an optional "auto-apply every match" toggle.
A dedicated Gamepads tab that translates up to 4 physical controllers (non-Xbox pads) into virtual Xbox 360 pads, since FIFA 16 only reliably reads XInput/Xbox-layout input. It's app-level, not tied to FIFA being open — see Gamepads Bridge Details.
Assign per-team/tournament chants and anthems under FSW/Chants, played back through the app's own audio engine during matches, including held goal-song playback that doesn't overlap the regular chants loop, plus an optional per-team entrance anthem (Entrance.mp3) played during the pre-kickoff walkout, which a tournament or a single round can override with its own. A folder can hold several numbered goal songs and entrance anthems (ClubSong2.mp3, Entrance2.mp3…), picked at random — see Chants Audio Files below.
Optionally shows your current match, teams, and stadium in your Discord status via local IPC — fully optional, and entirely local/private (no data leaves your machine except to your own Discord client). If you want stadium preview images in your status, the ImgBB API Key button in Settings sets the uploader's key without editing settings.json (applied immediately, no restart). See DISCORD_SETUP.md for setup.
Built-in editors read and write FSW/settings.ini directly from the UI: stadium/scoreboard/TV logo/movie/ball/referee/wipe/adboard assignments, excluded competitions or rounds, stadium net values (including Tension), per-stadium goalpost and entrance-camera packs, scoreboard display names, and chants entries — changes apply back into the running app immediately where possible.
Movie assignment (the quick "Assign Movie" dialog and the larger version in the Settings Editor's Movies/TeamMovies/DerbyMatch tabs) shows a small embedded video preview, audio included — pick a movie and it autoplays right there before you assign it (an Autoplay toggle can turn that off), with a volume slider and a fullscreen button. This decodes through ffpyplayer (bundled FFmpeg + SDL2, see Requirements) — no separate player install needed; if that package is missing from the build, the preview controls are simply disabled with an explanatory note, everything else keeps working normally.
Live previews now extend to every asset type across the Settings Editor and the assignment dialogs — thumbnail images for stadiums/scoreboards/TV logos/pitch/net/police, per-track play/stop for chants — instead of just a filename, plus a "Reveal in Explorer" button that opens the currently selected asset's folder or archive directly. A dedicated Settings tab groups App Settings and Overlay Settings separately from the Dashboard's Modules card, and a magnifying-glass UI zoom control scales fonts and window/dialog sizing app-wide.
Bindings can also be shared between installs — see Settings Export & Import.
