Quick Guide

The fastest path from "just downloaded it" to a working custom match:

  1. Install & point at FIFA 16. Download Server16Python.exe from Releases and run it; if it doesn't auto-detect your install, point it at FIFA 16.exe. Details in Getting Started.
  2. Run Setup, then Regen BH (Set Up tab → Run Setup, then Regen BH once it finishes) — do this the first time you point the app at an install, and again any time you need to repair a broken/incomplete one. If you've already customized FSW/settings.ini, uncheck the FSW/settings.ini box in the Run Setup checklist first — it's checked by default and will overwrite your existing assignments with the bundled template otherwise. Everything else in that checklist is safe to leave checked; Regen BH itself never touches settings.ini.
  3. On a vanilla install, run the Assets Extractor once (Setup tab → Database, then Kits/Crests/League Logos) so Kit Mixer and other in-place asset edits work without restarting FIFA. Skip this on a total-conversion mod like FIP — see Assets Extractor Details.
  4. Assign your first stadium, scoreboard, chants, etc. from the desktop window's assignment dialogs, after dropping the relevant packs into their FSW/StadiumGBD/etc. folders per that feature's guide in the Feature index (e.g. Stadium Folder And Archive Loading).
  5. Launch FIFA 16 and start a match — the app watches the game and applies whatever you assigned automatically, no further action needed.
  6. Open the in-game overlay with F12 (or hold Start/Menu on a gamepad) to browse and change assignments without leaving the game — see In-Game Interactive Overlay.
  7. If something doesn't show up in-game, check runtime/server16.log first, then that feature's specific guide in the Feature index — most "it doesn't apply" cases are already covered there. If assets aren't showing up in-game at all, re-running Regen BH is usually the first thing to try.
