The Beauregard Family has grown premium wine grapes for 4 generations now. Amos Beaureagard purchased the first piece of land in 1946 and farmed it until his death in the 1970's. He was succeeded by Emmett (Bud) Beauregard, who grapes on a purely recreational basis for the love of the trade, and in the spirit of keeping the second generation of a legacy alive. Bud retired in 2002.
Jim Beauregardis the current Viticulturalist. It was Jim who petitioned for the establishment of the Ben Lomond MountainAVA within the Santa Cruz Mountains, believing that the wines of this region posess distinct qualities that set them apart from the rest of the AVA. The BATF agreed, and granted the application in 1988. Jim was also the winemaker at Felton EmpireWinery in the 1970s-1980s
In 1999, Jim's son Ryanestablished the Beauregard Vineyards label, with the aim of showcasing the Ben Lomond AVA.
