1993: Tom Moller bought a prune orchard in Gilroy.
1995: Tore out diseased trees and waited five years before choosing another crop.
2006: First vintage as Satori Cellars, a boutique family-run estate winery.
“Satori” is both a Zen Buddhist term meaning “a taste of enlightenment” and a contraction of the family names: SAndy, TOm, and RIley Moller.
15-acre estate vineyard planted with:
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Cabernet Franc
- Merlot
- Zinfandel
- Petite Sirah
- Syrah
Also sources fruit from nearby vineyards including Fratelli and Dorcich, plus Chardonnay from Monterey.
Focus on award-winning estate-grown reds including Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Petite Sirah.
