Background
Travieso leases space at Pinder Winery, which also hosts Stroth-Hall Cellarsand Heart's Fire Winery.
Dr. Mats Hagstrom, is a cosmetic surgeon at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Some years ago he treated a patient who owned a vineyard in Napa and offered to sell him grapes. Together with his friend Ray Sliter they began by making a single barrel and went on to found the winery. They specialise in Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Syrah, sourced from various appellations outside the Santa Cruz Mountains. Several of the wines`are named after characters from Mexican folklore. The art work for each label changes with the vintage and depicts an evolving story of each character.
