UP Squared 6000
This Getting Started Guide is for UP Squared 6000 based products
Compatibility List:
- UP Squared 6000 Edge Computing Kit --> The software is pre-installed in this product
- UP Squared 6000 Edge
- UP Squared 6000 Board
Prepare the following to install the operating system for the UP Squared 6000 Edge and Board:
- USB flash drive
To complete the setup, you will also need the following:
- Monitor
- HDMI cable (or another video cable with a HDMI adapter)
- USB keyboard and mouse (use a USB hub should you need to connect more than 2 USB devices)
- PSU: 12V6A PSU (power cord sold separately) or 12V8A PSU (power cord sold separately)
The following procedures are for the UP Squared 6000 Edge and Board, which do not come with software preinstalled.
You may also follow these procedures when you need to reinstall the operating system.

Download Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 ISO from Ubuntu for Intel IoT platforms page. Direct link to ISO: Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop for Intel IoT Platforms image

Burn the downloaded image on a USB flash drive. We suggest using Etcher, which you can download from: https://etcher.io

Connect the USB flash drive to the UP Squared 6000 Edge or Board.

Turn on the system and proceed with the normal Ubuntu installation. For details, see Installation Instructions for Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop for Intel IoT Platform
After installing Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop for Intel IoT Platforms, please follow these instructions to install an updated version of MRAA libraries:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:aaeon-cm/mraa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mraa-tools mraa-examples libmraa2 libmraa2-dev libupm-dev libupm1 upm-examples python3-mraa libmraa-java
