Current status

Reviewed: 2026-11-01 · Source: b7140848 · Availability: current main; release differences are explicit below.

The reviewed main contains delivered graphics, audio, CPU, reliability and diagnostic work. Latest stable versus main identifies which download contains it; all 43 later merges is the complete post-September register.

Area Present in reviewed main Availability and limits
Vulkan shaders Hybrid Off/Fallback/Prewarm/Always; fresh default Prewarm; restart-latched. Exact-source SPIR-V, learned-family recipes and driver pipeline bytes are distinct caches. Earlier layers in stable; #228 readiness plus later #335/#336 behavior documented in Vulkan. Cache presence is not an FPS gain.
Vertex/memory correctness #85/#125 freshness and #89 direct/private-version routes with ordered fallback. Earlier work present in stable; vertex lifetime.
Graphics semantics DOT_ZW replaces old Ghoulies suppression; PTIMER/PGRAPH control decoupling restores observed Def Jam progress. Later GL cubemap/DMA repairs. #264/#265/#267/#271 in stable; #256/#298 main-only. Graphics, operational evidence.
Depth aliases Ownership, compatible retention, Morton mapping, bounds and conversion recorder foundations. Main-only foundations. End-to-end consumers #290/#291 remain held/unmerged.
Audio One-channel mono sinc, default DSP JIT, fresh-byte decoded ADPCM reuse, bounded mapping reuse, callback-local format, Auto-four workers and completion reliability. Mono/JIT defaults in stable; subsequent audio work main-only. Audio. Mapping-stack Morrowind regressions retained in issue310.
CPU x86_64 hard-FPU control and automatic generated FNSTSW AX within it. #296 main-only; focused status-time reduction with modest recorded PGR2 scene cost. ARM proposals #320/#321 remain unmerged.
Input and support Virtual controller configuration survives an absent provider; Input-tab null-provider fix; tracked version identity. #279 main-only; controller snapshot topology is not universally reconstructed.
Diagnostics/tests Linux paused-process audio ownership inspector, offline Vulkan finish attribution, production resampler/memory/ownership/context/LTO fixtures. Main-only later tools/fixtures; reduce uncertainty, not claimed runtime speedups.

What is absent or incomplete

Shader Browser was removed by #268. Workbench/Asset Browser branches are unmerged; the neural scaffold #262 has no validated neural pipeline. Linear resampling #189, runtime depth consumers #290/#291, process override/evidence flags #314 and GP trace/replay/HLE #376–#380 remain branch work. Research and retired work.

Current main supports -config_path. It does not contain -xemu-tweak or -xemu-shortcut-evidence. Generic typed policy infrastructure #257 does not make every UI control tri-state. Use the actual controls.

Evidence and known limits

Use Measured results for matched identities, losses and units. The October48-run comparison has a Windows PGR2 scene gain, a Deck PGR2 regression and mixed Conker tails; it is not November-main proof. Correctness repairs and passing tests are valuable without fabricated FPS percentages. Historical failures, withdrawn percentages and private evidence limits remain visible.

No new emulator benchmark was run for this documentation repair. Runtime performance impact of the documentation change: N/A.
